Who we are

Jaafar Al-Fekaiki is editor-in-chief of The Iraq Report and founder of its parent organisation Zagros Intelligence Ltd, a corporate and strategic intelligence firm specialising in Iran and the Arab world. Prior to founding Zagros Intelligence Jaafar held sensitive positions in the UK civil service working on issues of counter-terrorism and counter-CBRN proliferation, with a focus on Iraq and Syria. He is fluent in Arabic and Farsi, holds an MA in Middle East Studies from the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies at the University of Exeter, and a BSc in Theoretical Physics from University College London.

Our mission

The Iraq Report provides monitoring and analysis on Iraqi domestic and international developments to commercial clients, diplomatic missions, NGOs, and other parties with operations and interests in the country.

Our twice-weekly reports give decision-makers the strategic insights to understand the Iraqi political ecosystem, hedge against risk, and protect their interests and operations in the country.
